The Florence Airport (FLR), also known as the Peretola Airport or the Amerigo Vespucci Airport, is a very small airport that boasts only one runway. It is located in close proximity to the city of Florence, Italy (only about a 15 minute taxi ride). It is one of two airports known for servicing the region of Tuscany. (The other airport is the Galileo Galilei International Airport, which is located close to Pisa, Italy.) In 2009, the number of passengers that used the Florence Airport was at 1,667,318.
